Kavi was trained as a Marine Biologist and completed her PhD in Aquatic Ecotoxicology and Fish Biology. Her research focused on contaminants such as pesticides, hormones, industrial effluents, and urban run-off into creeks and rivers and the effects on fish. Her passion is the health of aquatic freshwater systems and the ocean. Her research was an eye-opener to how humans contaminate waterbodies through their daily life and land use practices. Her vision is to educate and inspire people and children to become environmental stewards by taking action to prevent contaminants from entering the water. This duty of care starts at home from changing daily life practices and choosing products that are gentle to the environment.
